Our Story

NewCarbon is the third new venture started by entrepreneur and energy executive, Omar Khayum. After previously founding two healthcare companies and after almost fifteen years in the power and natural gas industry working for blue chip energy companies, Omar saw the struggles that heavy carbon emitting sectors – industrial, agricultural and municipal – were having in decarbonizing their value chains. Organizations in those sectors were navigating complex and difficult decisions to reduce carbon emissions while preserving reliability and affordability of their products and services. All the while, the legacy product-centric approach to developing energy infrastructure was not providing for services and solutions to meet customers’ needs.

Thus started the journey to build NewCarbon. Simply, we believe that the low carbon energy industry should be reimagined with 21^st century thinking and technology rather than merely being an extension of legacy 20^th century business models. We aim to make it so by delivering lifecycle carbon intensity reduction through fit-for-purpose infrastructure solutions that integrate seamlessly across our customers’ value chains.
